thank you for putting this post up! it doesn't look like it will be in saskatoon for a while. i already want to see it. half scared to know more than i do, since i'm already scared of what i do know.
if it helps any, i planted over 55,000 tress last year. i'm about to head out to do more. on the downside, they'll likely be cut down in 80 years for lumber. i feel like i contribute to nothing worthwhile.... i wish i could change it all.
Hey, Dani, that's more than I've done, and more than most people do. Where have you planted trees? I'd heard that you'd done it but didn't know where. I'd like to do something like that.
Thanks for the encouragement, guys--especially because I'm about to head out to plant again. Laura, you're welcome to come, too! I plant for Northern Reforestation in Slave Lake, AB. I can tell you tonnes about it, but you won't really get it unless you've experienced it. E-mail me, if you want for extra info, or read one of my first entries on my blog! Heh.
At least with Weyerhauser on the outs with forestation out here, the trees I planted last year and this year won't be cut down. By them, anyway.
It is scary, isn't it though?--That we've engineered such a mess into our lives that societies can't function without the mess. It will take YEARS to engineer the damage out of our lives in an earth friendly way. It's crazy how man has taken this place we live in for granted!

No, Dani you helped immensely. Even planting lumber trees helps CO2 emissions.
