Gone Baptisin...

I was just watching the news and heard a quote that actually made me laugh out loud. The Liberal government are trying to push the proposed Gay marriage bill through the summer and obviously its meeting some opposition. Some Catholic priest in Paul Martin's home riding actually went so far as to say that "he hoped that Mr. Martin would lose his seat in the house as he is doing the devil's work and not God's". As if God gives a shit about Canadian politics. I mean come on!
What the hell is wrong with the world? I don't mean the Catholic church, because honestly, I don't have enough room here to type all of that out. I can not and will not ever understand the hatred and intolerance of other people, though. Gays and Lesbians have just as much rite (if not more) to wed as us "straighties" do. Considering that well over half of marriages end in divorce, shouldn't we be applauding those who feel they are enough in love to commit 100% to another person. Why are we still litterally following the directions of some uneducated people that lived 2000 years ago? Where is the logic? Considering the fact that we now diagnose people who "talk to God" as schitzophrenic, I say there is none. End of story.
